I bought it on a whim.
I’ve always wanted a semi acoustic.
For £330, it plays better than my £2000 Gibson.
Best purchase in a very long time.
I’ll have no hesitation in recommending Donner in the future.

The guitar was playable straight out of the case and it was comfortable and easy to fret, even someone with large fingers like me :)
I have the cherry finish and it looks very elegant.

The website was a bit problematic and the customer services responded to me but were of no use. I received no communication about shipping but when I asked I was given shipping details.
The guitar arrived and it was everything I hoped for.
Very good build quality and sounds great.

Outstanding value for money. If you can't afford a Gibson 335 buy this instead. Unless you are a professional I doubt you can really tell the difference in sound and playability.

Absolutely brilliant guitar nice smooth action great to play

A drop dead brilliant looking and finished guitar that played well straight out of the box!! For the price I would say it’s unbeatable!
The pots COULD be a little more ‘reactive’ but work okay, but the pick ups and fret work are both spot on!
The first one Donner sent me had suffered some damage in transit. I contacted Donner who sent me a replacement immediately - their customer service (in my case provided by Abdallah…thank you my friend!) could not have been better, so you can buy from them in confidence knowing that any rare and unlikely problem will be sorted quickly and without hassle!

I played the Donner for the first time on Saturday and was hugely impressed with the sweet sound. I had no idea it would sound so good. Plays so easy. I'm going to put a Bigsby on it very soon otherwise I would have played it all night. Even at the volume we play at, no feedback, wasn't expecting that.

Beautiful guitar. Beautiful sound

This is a very well-built, good looking and playable guitar. It looks and sounds excellent, the action is nice and low, and the neck is easy-going (even with my hands, which are quite small). Sonically versatile due to multiple pickup configurations. The volume and tone controls are the only things which need improvement: the guitar works perfectly well as it is, but on my guitar, the volume pots are only really effective in the last 20% of their range.

I can't pretend to compare this guitar with more expensive instruments but I love this one. It is beautifully made in my opinion and really looks and feels like the real deal. I only wish my playing could do it justice.

The guitar is beautifully made and finished. It’s well set up and plays straight out of the bag. The tuning pegs are firm and solid.
My only criticism is with the pots. My guitar had the coil splitter on the volume knobs when the product description states should be on the tones. Also the volume makes little difference between 2-10. 0-2 is silent. The tone pots have very little noticeable effect. These can always be upgraded at a later date.
Other than those points, I am delighted with high quality of the build and the exceptional price.

I'm totally delighted with this guitar. It looks absolutely fantastic (I got the black one), feels comfortable and plays beautifully. I'm more than happy with the pickups, and there's a great range of sounds from the coil taps. Okay, the bridge leaves a bit to be desired, but that's a minor quibble; otherwise there's great attention to detail for the price. Highly recommended.

GREAT GUITAR FOR THE PRICE HOWEVER THE TONE CONTROLS DO NOT SEEM TO BE WORKING IF SOMEONE FROM THE TECH DEPT COULD CONTACT ME I WOULD APPRECIATE IT

When I unboxed the guitar I was amazed at the build quality, very impressed. It’s early days in terms of its playability but it seems excellent so far and the range of sounds with coil taps is brilliant. Ranging from full mellow sound to thin country treble for rockabilly. Although not totally hollow it’s has a good acoustic sound and playable without an amp for a personal practice or noodle session.

I own over 20 electric guitars... some of them expensive custom shop jobs, so I wasntvexoecting what I received from Donner to be great. I was wrong. My black "Jazz" guitar is splendid. The frets are smooth and there are no sharp ends. The fret board appears to be ebony. The original set-up was good with a slick action and accurate intonation. The neck carve is very comfortable - much like a Gibson 1960 slim shape Les Paul neck. The body and finish are good with bound F holes and double body binding. So the biggest surprise was yet to come. Affordable guitars NEVER have good pickups... wrong again. These are powerful and articulate, with the coil taps adding extra choices. Absolutely superb...
Just one disappointment... The volume and tone controls use the wrong taper potentiometers, so nothing happens between 10 and 4, the everything happens between 1 and 4. This is a nuisance. The correct pot costs no more to buy or fit, and Donner should fix this...
Overall, a remarkable price for an instrument of this quality. With all the choices from Fender, Gibson and Gretsch that I have to hand, the "Jazz" is my current "go-to" guitar. So good that I'm sorely tempted to order the Black T type that Donner are offering at present.
I'm a very happy customer...

Great little guitar, Play's well you can have dual paff's or single elements of the pic-up's
I like it and will use it on stage as a back up..

I loved it. It has the perfect tone I was looking for to play some blues. The settings give you a bunch of options and tone changes are excellent. I have played it for a few weeks now and it has kept its tunning even though I use lots of blending. The design and colours are beautiful, it is light and having tone and volume for each humbucker is perfect. I'm now very curious into other models from Donner as with those prices you can't go wrong.

Beautiful guitar, great sound.

Only really played acoustic so this was the perfect next step. No experience on how it should sound next to more expensive ones but really like this guitar. It comes with a better cable than my rubber ones a nice guitar strap and a really good padded bag, it's not just a guitar cover it has some protection. Set up was easy, tuned it in and played. and it sounds great. Well done Donner.
Neville W.
It's an okay guitar and I have no problems with it.

A beautiful burgundy coloured guitar, which is well built and easy to play. The set-up was well done (although I lower the action a little, and will be adding thicker strings). The gig bag, the shoulderstrap and the lead are of surpringly good quality.
One of my several reasons for purchasing this instrument was the coil-split function, which works perfectly, giving a subtle change of tone from the neck pickup. The overall tone of this instrument is warm and clean, with plenty of overdriven crunch when required. The tuners are secure and accurate, the frets are nicely finished, with no sharp edges, the fingerboard looks and feels great.
The guitar has a nice weight which makes it very comfortable to play.
Overall a very satisfying purchase.

I've been pleasently surprised by this Donner Jazz Guitar. Having brought a Donner ST previously for someone as a gift I knew they were good guitars for the money. A 335 style semi-hollow is something I've always wanted but never owned so I decided to take a gamble on this one.
It arrived quickly and unharmed with a gig bag, strap and a lead, all perfectly serviceable kit.
Unboxing the guitar I was impressed by the set up, the action was low and there were no high frets. The intonation was pretty darn close right up the neck, and the fret ends were all smooth and even.
Checking over the finish I found it to be flawless other than some dark flecks in the binding along the top edge of the fretboard. Donner have by far the best paint finishes out of all the budget brands I've come across.
After a few days settling to the temperature and humidity of my home, the neck ended up a little straighter than I'd like but this wasn't an issue as I was planning on fitting a thicker set of strings.
I've played the guitar through 2 different valve amps and various pedals and it sounds good. The pickups are not bad at all, the output is quite high for the style of guitar and a bit darker than I usually go for but the coil splitting gives you a bit more chime if that's what you like. On the neck pickup with a little gain you get a rich smooth blues overdrive (see Clapton's reconsider baby) and on the bridge with higher gain you get a good classic hard rock tone (AC/DC highway to hell). I'll probably change the tone cap on the bridge tone control at some point but that's just personal preference.
A few days ago when fitting a set of slightly thicker strings (this guitar could do with a set of 10's from the factory) I gave the frets a polish, lubed the nut and rolled the fretboard edges. It now feels and plays like an instrument ten times the price. I've been playing this back to back with a PRS Paul's guitar and a Fender Ultra Tele and now it really feels like a comparable guitar to the other two.
If they carry on like this I can see Donner being a big name in years to come.
