Comes with adapter and all necessary pieces - currently using it with an AKG 214 and a pop filter. Definitely noticeable noise reduction since the room is untreated and at a great price point. The build is solid and the plastic frame is adjustable. My mic stand was a bit weak since the shield isn't small so I'll be getting a sturdier one. Great value otherwise!

Compact and effective. Mic stand adjusts forward and backward. Solid construction, stores easily and without crushing the sound-foam. You should consider something soft to go under if you are using on a tabletop. It comfortably fit my Samsung Q20 mic even when only open 6”.

Excellent isolation shield, especially for the price. First, the one major CON: It's bulky, but that's to be expected considering the thickness of foam required. Don't expect to use it on top of a cheap, lightweight stand or desk arm, though - it's much too heavy for that. Instead, expect for it to occupy a decent amount of your desk or other surface. The bulk remains large even when it's folded. However, the PROS make up for the bulk! The sound isolation is excellent - I teach online and my students no longer complain about hearing the ridiculously loud lawn crew my condo employs. As long as you have this between your microphone and the source of noise you're trying to avoid, you should have excellent results! The bulk was necessary for this. It's also great for reducing sound bounce back from walls, thus improving quality further. Finally, it is large enough to fit around the Blue Snowball. Overall, this was an excellent purchase for working (and teaching) from home!

For what is does it works beautifully. Because of the design I can keep the mic deep and extend the sides to keep ambient sound out which is a weakness with other shallow shields. May buy two more small shields to extend the sides even more to allow a larger tablet to read off. Read for an audition off my iPhone which worked beautifully as it contained the voice near the mic and INSIDE the booth. Am setting up a large home booth and like this so much will experiment with it INSIDE that booth to control street noises in the summer. Did get a call back on the voice audition and was pleasantly surprised how well the large baffle worked. Next time will try it with a down ski jacket over the top and behind. My guess is that will add 25- 30% more sound baffling - as long as the mic and the voice Is contained INSIDE the baffle.

Got one of these as I explore recording vocals in music. A noticeable difference on tightening the quality of the recording (I haven't tested the sound proofing, as it's already very quiet where I am). In terms of podcasting and gaming, this is a great, lightweight/desktop solution. It's a quality build. Little crowded on a mic stand with a "normal" recording mic (using an AKG 420) and pop filter, but it works. Unfortunately, this isn't a long-term solution for me -- but in terms of price and convenience, I'm happy with my purchase.

I bought this item to quickly record voice over for my job. I used this item on a tabletop and recorded in my bedroom closet. This item helped to block any other ambient sounds such as plane noises and cars driving down the street. It did the job. I also installed my mic using the included adapter so that my mic was attached to the actual shield. This was convenient as I was using a small table and it saved space or avoided knocking the mic over. You can slightly adjust the distance the mic is from you on the stand. The most difficult thing for me was arranging the shield with my laptop being nearby as I was recording video demonstrating software with voice over.

I can still hear noises outside my bedroom even with the door closed. If your heater comes on, it will sound like a jet engine. I feel this is more for looks than actual use since there's several inches at the bottom exposed.

I do a podcast and I do it at work. I run a gym and most of the day I have loud music going and people banging an clanging weights. On our first few podcasts you could hear it really loud. After purchasing the tabletop noise canceling screen the background noise disappeared. Weird thing is I can still hear everything but it really does block the sound. Pretty cool product for someone that doesn’t need a full on studio or it’s not practical or possible to do sound recording in silence. Fits easily on my desk behind my computer and mic.

I have one of the microphone isolation shield for a long time, but I just couldn’t afford the large price tag. I record my voice while singing and also speaking when I do things like voiceovers or podcasts. Space is a real issue for me, I don’t have the space for a freestanding vocal or isolation booth. I just started not only doing a podcast but also a vlog. Where I live it's so quiet that you can hear every thing, every car that drives by or every noise coming from the house such as the heater on or AC on. So I decided to take a chance with this, and it made a major difference, it has made the sound quality so much better and my voices sounds amazing without have to "auto tune" the voice. This is amazing value for the money, I have a friend who does a podcast and she paid ￡300 for one, I can't really compare this to that one but I did indeed notice a major improvement within recordings and the noise cancellation worked perfectly for me. I truly recommend this for anyone who is thinking of starting a podcast. To me this was the best first step of getting into podcasting.

I need a microphone isolation shield for my music studio and this is perfect it works well. Makes my voice sound much better and I might sound better than Drake. Perfect size and budget friendly. This acoustic shield has acoustic foam on the front and a vented backplate, allowing the microphone to "breathe" and preventing reflections within the shield's arc. I teach from home. Sometimes I’m on camera sometimes I’m not. This offers a great bang for your buck. My students can tel the difference when I’m using it and it helps reduce the background noises like my dog grooming himself or barking at the latest bird that flew by. I highly recommend it!
