This is a nice little microphone I was very impressed especially for the price.

Great quality mic for the price!. Works wonderful with my iPhone for recording videos. It also works perfectly for zoom meetings and also for the dictation software on my computer. I am super happy with this microphone and would recommend it.

I bought and sampled three other similar mics and this was the best one. Other mics in this price range seem to make the sound on my SL3 camera worse but this mic is excellent. I always use it when I vlog. Excellent purchase.

This product is okay, my camera is a canon EOS SL3, without it it sounds okay, with the microphone it’s a bit better, let’s say you put the mic close to your mouth you can tell the difference. It looks great, I liked it.

Good microphone for the price

Wanted a low-cost mic for a project. This mic is as good as more expensive ones. The accessories including the wind shield, bag, and cable are a good added value. The mount was a little stiff and could be improved some. It is surprising how well it sounds considering the low price. I recommend this product to others.

This microphone is perfect for my camera. I've been using it for several days and it's great, especially for a good price. I recommend it

So far, so good, quality is good and the sound quality is fine for my needs

honestly, this is a good product for those camera has a bad microphone. It is also useful on my iPhone too! I would like to recommend this budget camera microphone to you guys!

We are using this microphone to imprint sound quality when recording short videos with a gimble. We found that we kept hearing a fair bit of background noise like the hvac system running in our office building. This microphone definitely addressed those issues. We are eager to test it out outdoors once the weather is nice enough!
cbur180
great bang for your buck!
I use the mic for videos I make on my phone, and it attaches easily to my tripod stand. hasn’t failed me and sounds really good for the price and size

The mic works great for the price. I used it with my Nikon D5100 and work just fine. I liked the sensitivity setting on 2, which is in the middle. I also used on my Motorola G5s Plus, and worked just fine. Much better than the internal mic on both devices. Much louder. Great value for price.

I was nicely surprised with the quality of this product. The packaging was quality as well as the product itself. I will update on the sound when finished recording

I have a keyboard with the volume of a wind turbine and I can't hear nothing except my voice, not that you would want to hear that either.
Accessories are pretty nice as well in case I need a vlog or portable mic.

We tried different mics and some either had some feedback or noise. Since we got this microphone our problems are gone. Good voice quality, crystal clear sound. Will buy again.

Use this with my d3200, superior sound to the built in mic. Great for begginer vlogging. Very high quality product. For the price very hard to beat. Can't imagine other brands doing any better at 3 to 8x the cost.

I bought this microphone to use with my Canon sl3, and it works well. I'm too new to modern video and audio production to be able to speak much about audio quality, and I haven't tried using it with any other equipment. I can say it's way better than the built in mic on my camera.

This microphone has great sound quality! We use it for vlogging and it sounds great. It picks up voices from a good distance but doesn’t pick up background noise. We have a Sony XV-1 and it’s a perfect fit.

I used this Moukey mike to record our community choir. I set it up on a mike stand about 6 feet above the audience and about 1/3 back in the church (20-30 feet from the choir). I used my Honor 6X with the Voice Recorder app. I'm very pleased with the sound quality this microphone could pick up for the low price point.

If you're in the market for a shotgun mic, then this is the one for you. My main use for this is to record me playing the kalimba and it does so well picking up the sound from the direction it is pointed at. The sound is so clear compared to me just using just the phone's mic or the mic from my headphones. For the price this mic is a steal.

I was in the market for a mic to go on top of my Sony a6100 and would be used with a gimbal for vlogging so I wanted something small and light weight and the Rode mics were a bit on the pricey side so I found the Moukey MCM-1 mic and the reviews looked pretty decent and the price was right so I figured I'd give it a go. Well I am happy to report that this mic is excellent

The microphone is very efficient for the price, you can totally hear the difference, especially when outside or in a large room. Needless to say that it makes a big difference regarding the quality of your videos. Very easy to use, you plug it and you're ready to go. Another plus, for the price you don't have to be very careful while using it. I'm happy with it.
Christopher
I was going to purchase the Shure MV88+ recording kit until I saw the price. I figured I could put together a similar rig at a much lower price point and I decided to go with the Moukey MCM-1 for audio part of my rig. This is probably one of the best purchases I've made recently as the microphone is a quality mic at and excellent price. I make short sci-fi films and have used this on the set. You can't go wrong with this mic, especially at this price point.

I love this microphone. It’s really affordable and great quality. I’m doing YouTube channel videos and such and I finally have a professional camera. I looks online to find all the right attachments to fit my camera. I’ve done two videos and I could say that it is much better quality than my camera’s microphone. It’s loud and I could hear less noise than I normally would which is great.

We use this when we record videos for our YouTube channel. I mount it on my LUMIX G-9 which sets about 8 feet away when we are shooting. The audio is loud and clear. It certainly meets our needs, but we aren’t doing any Hollywood productions. We could spend a lot more money, but we don’t feel we need to spend more. If you would like to see an example go to YouTube and search on “Putting Gold into the Golden Years”. Maybe you’ll even get some ideas.

The Moukey MCM-1 is an external shotgun mic for digital cameras. It can also be used for cell phone cameras that can take a 1/8" mic plug (newer iPhones will need an adaptor). Overall, this mic is nearly identical to the Movo VXR-10, which retails for about $40. The Moukey MCM-1 retails for about $20. The question is "is there a $20 difference in sound quality between the two?" I have both the Movo VXR-10 and the Moukey MCM-1 and use them for recording educational instruction videos. Honestly, I can't tell the difference.

I needed a camera microphone to fit on my DSLR camera in order to record instruments, and this one worked out great. I did a quick (somewhat messy playing) test with my drum kit, and the microphone picked it all up without peaking or distorting audio in any way!
The sound quality is levels above other microphones of the same price, and about as good if not better than the "Rode VideoMic Go". The audio is clear, no muffled sounds, and it's directional which is super useful for cancelling out all other unwanted sounds. In terms of the actual recordings, it tends to pick up more of the lower end of the audio which is perfect for getting rid of any buzzing or background noise. Overall I would definitely recommend this mic to anyone who needs an affordable high quality option to record instruments, voice, or anything else!

I've used this with several DSLR's, and it easily beats the on-board mics in those cameras. I've also used it with my Cannon HD cams ... and here it was about on-par with the internal mics, not really better ... however, having the wind mouse (the furry wind-screen) really helps in actual outdoor windy conditions, something NOT available with the on-board mics! BTW, I saw someone mention there is no foam in the mouse ... that's as it should be, the mouse is a WIND filter, not a pop filtere ... there is ALSO a foam pop-filter included where THAT is the appropriate tool for the job (vocals up close).
In case it matters, I'm a 3-time Emmy award winning audio for video engineer ... five times nominated :-)
Is this as good as my thousand dollar pro shotgun mics by Sennheiser and AKG? No, but it's as good as anything you'll get for the price!
Gelman
I really like that two different microphone covers were included, and they serve different use cases. I tend to like the "fuzz" wind filter one for most of my outdoor work; it really helps to cut down on any wind noise that might be blowing across the mic.
Recording sound on the microphone is great, really happy with the quality for the price. I'm using it with an older iPhone and an audio recording app, but have also tested it with an iPhone X and the headphone to lightning adapter and that has worked just as well.
TEB
Bought this shotgun microphone to use with an older iPhone as a dedicated interview and review microphone. Shotgun microphones are much better at picking up audio in a specific direction (directly in front of them) and that's exactly what I needed.

The shock mount fits securely on top of DSLRs and can also fit on various tripods. There’s some flexibility in the mount, but it would benefit from having a bit more give to allow for better shock absorption.
Samy K.
This video microphone is compact, lightweight, and travel-friendly. One of the most impressive features is that it does not require an external preamp or USB power. It’s as easy as plug and play! The mic interfaces well with 1/8” jacks, including those on iPhone and Mac. It can also be easily routed into various DAWs.

If you’re a vlogger, remote podcaster, or simply someone who is looking for an inexpensive way to improve your iPhone, computer, or DSLR audio quality, this mic is for you! For the price point, you cannot beat Moukey’s MCM-1 video mic.

This is a shockingly-decent sounding microphone for the money. I regularly use Sennheiser shotgun and wireless lav mics when I’m filming, and they work great. BUT I wanted to out together an inexpensive “hot mic” as they’re called. By combining a small mic like this one, with a wireless transmitter and a small cheese plate...now you’ve got a small and quickly deployed method of capturing MUCH better audio during chaotic ENG, documentary style shoots.
I’ve been really impressed by the audio quality, especially for such a cheap price!
R.Soto
I purchased this microphone because I was looking for a budget alternative to enhance the audio quality of my mobile setup and this was a great choice.
The package comes with the microphone, a couple or adapters almost ready to use and a reusable pleather pouch. In my case I had to get additional adapters for my iPhone and DJI Osmo Pocket camera.
In terms of material quality, it is significantly better than I expected. The coldshoe mount looks fragile, though. After recording a few sample videos with and without the mic, I did notice a significant improvement in the audio quality and it sounds great.
I would definitely recommend this as a starter microphone especially if you’re looking to record with less background noise.

I have a Nikon 3100. The mount slips into grooves on the microphone and there are also grooves to guide the placement of the windscreens. You get two types of windscreen. And two different length cords to run audio. This really improves the video sound on the D3100 dramatically. This has added some more functionality to my Nikon. The entire rig is pretty compact.
O
I used a recorded sound source indoors to test it and the sound quality was great.

This microphone captures sound very well for such a reasonable price.

The mic itself is made of a metal casing, it definitely feels decent in my hand (get your mind out of the gutter.) it didn’t feel cheap, in other words, with a price point as low as 20 dollars I was half expecting a plastic case. It comes with a shock mount which is made of plastic... and it’s very rigid. Now of all the items this mic comes with the shock mount feels cheap, I honestly thought I was going to snap it in half when putting the mic in there but it went right in( ... get your head out of the gutter)! The mic! It comes with two cords, both are 3.5mm one is trrs- meant for cell phones or tablets, the other is a trs which is meant for dslrs or computers. It also comes with two wind screens, a dead cat which is kind of limp... (... I’m not even...) but DOES work. It fits on there well, and does a decent job. Although in very high winds I noticed it does rub against the mic which can cause some unnecessary noise. But you shouldn’t be using it during a wind storm. The other is a pop filter which is was really nice and again felt like it was made of quality and held up against a lot of elements. It’s just nice that Moukey includes all these as most mic companies seem to nickel and dime you for accessories. Out the gate you really don’t need to really buy anything for this, which is nice, kudos to you Moukey.

I have this mounted on top of my panasonic G7. It’s definitely better than the on camera mic. So whether you are a film maker, or YouTube novice, or you just want something better than your on board mic, this is worth looking into, especially for the price. I use it as a scratch track when I film my movies (I usually record audio separately.) it picks up the surrounding audio better and helps me easily sync audio from a separate source to the camera.

One thing that stuck out to me was the box it came in, it was built nicely. I know, I know... what does this have to do with the microphone, well it is just nice to know that this company takes the time to Package the product decently. The box was definitely tough and in a day and age where packages get tossed around like frisbees, I felt safe knowing the contents would be safe and not crushed. Opening the box I noticed that everything was packaged tightly in the box, giving it a little shake nothing really loved around... again a big sign of comfort.

decent audio quality in my honest opinion is a very important thing to have... whether you are vlogging for YouTube, making films, or shooting weddings... people are more likely to tune out due to poor audio quality than poor video quality. That being said finding decent microphones can be pricy.
Well I discovered the Moukey MCM-1, and well for a little over 20 bucks, it’s a decent little mic. A lot of reviews I’ve seen or read have said the mic had some reverb, or sounded canned.. but I didn’t have any issues at all to be honest and was really impressed with what I found.

The sound quality of this mic is really solid

This unit is not bad for the price, but it has its limitations. it is just a cheap basic microphone, you are paying for the mount, cables and wind silencer. in the review it mentions "Noice Cancellation rating" there is none, this is not a powered mic, it is literally a 30 cent dual electret mic head in a plastic enclosure, theres no circuitry on the mic to support noise cancellation, and any noise cancellation would be from the device its plugged into. but for the price, you got what you paid for, and in my case it seems to have more sensitivity from the immediate sides of the unit, which makes sense since its a stereo input device. And audio doesnt have the best frequency range, BUT it has great response where it counts, Human Voice seems to BOOM through even with background noise present.
For music its not bad, but definetely misses some highs and lows, however its not bad, and will wipe the floor with most built in mics on your cameras...i have a very deep voice and it reproduces mine quite well,
One thing i had an issue with was my canon EF 35mm STM lens. I could CLEARLY hear the stepping motors of the lens thru this mic, and its being transmitted thru the mount. this is my only real annoyance since the internal stereo mic nor the Rode VideoMic catch the STM motors. They are easily enough removed in post, but why am i hearing them to begin with? just odd.
The isolator with cold shoe mount is 100% worthless for stopping camera sound transmission to the mic (e.g,.Focus motor etc) it just doesnt help at all, and the dead cat cover is weak at best.but does work. so WHY 5 stars? cause it is worth every penny of the 20 bucks you spent. if you wanted better youd buy a 2-300 dollar RODE VideoMic and get much better isolation and identical audio quality. and then complain about that 300 dollar flimsy mic...
20 bucks you get what you paid for. I have a Rode Videopro which isnt much different than this to be honest. the RODE VideoMic was the most disappointing purchase ive ever made. The audio is either too low or blowing the VU meters off the end of the scale, some one stole my PROPRIETARY RODE LYRE MOUNT and IF You can find one its THE SAME COST OF THE ENTIRE MIC USED.
Used exclusively on my Canon MK5IV and its as good and in some ways better than my RODE VideoMic costing 15 times more money.

This is an amazing mic! I hesitate to even add some sort of disclaimer, like it’s amazing *for the price*, because quite honestly, it’s AMAZING,

Moukey products I have found to be very good for the money. This is a sturdy mic, easy to use and comes with everything you need. Wind guard is a little tight to install but does fit.

Bought this mic after a disappointing experience with an omnidirectional which picked up all of the noise from the surroundings and was hell to salvage with sound editing so the obvious move was to buy a unidirectional and, at that price, this was a no-brainer. if you're looking for a mic for videoblogging, interviews or corporate videos, this will do perfectly.

The sound quality of this mic is really solid - check out my demo starting at 1:19 for an example. You can’t beat the price for a mountable video microphone.
