Sorry to ignore your request until now but this item was bought as a birthday present for my husband and was delivered very promptly. During lockdown he learnt to play the tin whistle and mentioned that he would like to try playing a clarinet. It was music to my ears! The clarinet is much more mellow and a little more challenging. Today is his 79th birthday and he is over the moon with the complete starter clarinet set, and cannot wait to get started.

I was very pleased to receive my Eastar clarinet from Donner Music. The clarinet from my early experience is excellent.

As in picture, included lots of useful extras such as stand, strap attacher and mouthpiece stickers. Good value for my young daughter to learn on.

Love to learn playing it

I have been having a lot of fun with this clarinet. I played the clarinet for a bit in high school and am picking it up again. Obviously I am not very good but I am honestly quite impressed with the sound that comes out; it has a nice timbre to it and is really easy to play in the lower register. I am still working on getting a cleaner sound in the upper register; this is more of an issue with my abilities than the clarinet itself.
I like that this kit comes with everything you need. It comes a lip balm container that has some Vaseline like gel in it for the cork. It goes together super snug. It comes with some extra reeds so you won't have to buy more for a while. The keys feel nice and natural.
Overall I have been really happy with this and can't see any issues at all.

I purchased this for my granddaughter ( she was playing mine that was over 50 years old, and it got broke) It was well packaged and seems well built. I unpacked it and played it before I gave it to her. Sounds fine. She has been playing it for several days and says it is doing great. She said the mouthpiece is good, she likes the stand that came with it, when I unpacked it, I used the cork grease and she says it is no problem putting it together. Very pleased with the purchase so far, no complaints.

As a clarinet beginner, I had a hard time at first creating sound, but after a few days of dedication and practice, I assure you, you will create some sound! You can see in the video, I'm not the best clarinet player, but I tried my best to play something! I hope you like it. I did blend in some sounds together to create something more pleasing to hear. Other than that, the sound itself is not fixed in any other form.

I have been really happy with this and can't see any issues at all. I will point out that this didn't come with a fingering guide. I have been using Youtube for that.

I bought this as a present for a beginner. I am a clarinet player and was able to test it when it arrived. The first clarinet that was sent had a problem: the bell and one of the barrels wouldn't go on due to a bad fit. I returned it and they sent another one within a week. Please note that you only get $15 reimbursed if you have to make a return. I think that policy should change if the product is defective.
Having said that, the clarinet itself is very good quality and has a beautiful tone, especially considering that it is not made of wood. There is a faux wood grain that looks excellent and the keys are placed well; they are very easy to use. I love the price. I call this type of buy a flying-under-the-radar product because, even though it is not well known, it is just as good as or better than, some of the more expensive comparable clarinets. Years ago, I had a Yamaha and I think this one is better; it is lighter and has a more velvety timbre.

Great product for beginners at less money

I bought this to progress from the tin whistle! Not being an expert I looked at various clarinets on offer, this one had good reviews & was in my price range for starting. The clarinet arrived on time well packaged. The carrying case is well made & contains everything you need to maintain the clarinet including the cork grease, stand & reeds, although not used to handling them I soon had to re-order replacements. The clarinet was easy enough to assemble-after looking at online tutorials, it seems to be well made, & the register keys are solid enough. I managed to get a squeak or two out of it to start with, but now I'm progressing & can play a few easy tunes-which the neighbours dog now appreciates & stops howling when I practise! The sounds not as deep as I thought it would be-but that could be due to the reeds & barrel-also my lack of experience. It's not too heavy for lengthy practise sessions, although it may benefit some people to buy a clarinet sling. All in all very pleased with the purchase & I look forward to playing it everyday-although some folk may disagree! Good value for the first steps in music.

Very pleased with this instrument. I hadn't picked up a clarinet for about forty years but I was able to get a beautiful tone out of it within minutes of its first assembly. It comes with three reeds, a cleaning kit, two barrels to help with tuning, a standard ligature and a leather ligature (which I prefer). Compared to my old clarinet (my boyhood instrument which I dug out and tried out of curiosity) this instrument is very responsive so would be suitable for beginner as well as more experienced hobby players. In terms of value for money, this is the best purchase I've made in many a long day as I expect to get many hours of pleasure out of it. I should add that it's well-finished and looks great and to tell the truth I find it hard to keep my hands off it. Recommended.

I am well please with the Eastar ECL300 bf Clarinet, thank you.I couldn't have asked for better service than Donner gave. I am 75 years old, love music, and owned an old clarinet for a couple of years in my youth.I could only play a few notes then, but find it so much easier now with the Eastar. After practicing about 30 minutes a day for the past week,I can already play up and down the lower scale from top to low bottom key, competently enough ,not to drive the neighbours mad. This clarinet has a lovely tone, and is very listenable.I was born and bred in Bristol and still love listening to fellow west countryman Acker Bilk.He had such a lovely sound and style for someone who taught himself to play the clarinet during his years in the merchant navy.I can only wish!! thank you very much RSP

I was really pleasantly surprised that the kit included everything one would need to jump right into learning clarinet, and the fine details really stood out -- the case itself is durable and the interior lined softly so as to protect the instrument. Easy to assemble and disassemble, it's also really beautifully made, with very clean lines, and offers a good sound at a price that won't break the bank.

if you are a beginner, this is the best quality you will get. Would highly recommend!

It's a very good beginner's/student's instrument. Unlike some others, the instrument feels like an actual instrument (not a toy), it makes a decent sound, and the body seems well enough to be handled by a 9yr old boy.

My kid signed up for band class and decided to play clarinet. Instead of renting for $150 a year as school doesn’t provide it for a beginner. I decided to purchase and give this one a try. We are very satisfied with it as it comes with many reeds and a nice case to carry with straps. My son can easily put it together but first few times better to use cord grease. The teacher even said this is a nice clarinet for the price. Great quality for the music sound.

First of all this comes with everything you need, including cork grease, gloves, reeds, even a stand. The quality seems very good, it comes in a matte black finish with nickel-plated keys.
The clarinet does come with a black case that holds all the accessories and clarinet parts snuggly. The case does seem pretty sturdy but there were some loose threads sticking out. (this does not seem to effect the durability)
The clarinet itself has a good weight to it and feels solidly constructed. Initially I did find putting the clarinet together to be a challenge but after watching a youtube video on how to do it, it was pretty easy. The key is to use the cork grease on the parts and work it into the cork very well. You have to rotate the parts so that they are covered equally in grease. It is a very snug fit but it is supposed to be air tight so that the air stays within the clarinet. When you put it together the first time I suggest you work in the grease on each part then disassemble it and reassemble it a couple more times to work it in.
I played a couple of notes and it sounded very good to me and I will continue to learn on this wonderful instrument. Overall I'm very happy with this clarinet it seems very good value for a beginner and a comparable clarinet is about $600 at my local music store so this is about 1/6th the price with all accessories included.
