I bought this guitar based on the promotional video which appeared in Facebook. I just thought for the money I couldn’t go wrong. Did I need a new guitar - no I have 4 electric guitars already including some “professional” makes but I liked the look and the sound in the video and it was such a good price. From getting out of the box to tuning it and playing it for the first time I was and still am impressed. It is a fantastic guitar for the money. It’s light, easy to play and the pickups are loud and responsive. The fret board and frets are great and I’ve used it with various amps and sound combinations and can’t fault it. Not sure how a professional or performing guitarist would view it but for a bloke that plays to himself in his man cave I love it. It’s my go to guitar at the moment. Would I recommend it - yes highly.

Great LP copy but damaged in transit and the head had been sheared off. Donner UK gave excellent service and replaced with a new guitar with no hesitation and didn't need to send the damaged guitar back to them. I received the new guitar within a week of my initial reporting the problem, so full marks for Customer Service

Outstanding guitar for the price. Don't know how they do it!

The guitar arrived quicker than I expected. Had to do some tuning up and adjustments first but then plugged it into my VOX amp and the sound was amazing for such a low priced guitar. Would certainly recommend as either a starter guitar or a session guitar. Love mine.

I really didn't know what to expect from my Donner DLP-124S, but the reviews were all very good, and when I unwrapped it, I certainly wasn't disappointed. The finish is superb, and when I plugged it in - WOW. The sound certainly equals the finish. It is great. The frets are very smoothly finished and the string height was perfect straight out of the box. The playability is excellent. All in all, I would say it is equal to - or better than - many guitars that are twice the price. Well done, and thank you Donner.

Very pleased with the guitar, exceeded my expectations

For the price you can’t fault it. It’s well built and fairly light to hold.
Pickups sound good as humbuckers.
For a beginner or intermediate player you can’t go wrong. You can tweak the set up if you feel it needs it. Change the strings as soon as you can.

Just play for my own enjoyment but wow what a guitar for the price... such a beauty & that tone tho. Paired this up w/Azor's Fuzz & Spring Reverb pedal's & its making quarantine much more enjoyable. Believe the hype from those Youtube Vids reviewing this axe.

The quality of the wood and finish is very professionally finished. This kit comes with a bag that you can carry on the side but also like a backpack. It also have the belt that can be assembled. It comes with audio cable in/out that I can plug into my PA system. I have the converter that works great and is gives a good sound. The overall quality and the design is modern and picked a darker color. It came with some sheet instructions of some key.

Beginners, do not hesitate to buy this. Very good deal for a good-looking/sounding electric guitar. It is so easy to carry anywhere, which is a sweet bonus. If you are taking on a new hobby, this Donner guitar is the best purchase you could make.

It arrived in good condition, well packed without any major flaws or issues. I tuned it up and it played just fine right out of the box. Replacing the strings with my favorites sounded even better. It sounds fine and will work for any beginner. I'm experimenting with different pickups which are easy to change due to the easy access wiring of the LP style which is the main reason for buying this guitar. I also replaced the tone & volume pots with better quality ones. I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a good guitar good price.
Scrooged!
This is a great little LP; looks awesome, sounds way better than it should for this price, is well constructed, and is fun to play. I was shocked to see that it shipped in the soft gig bag, in a thin cardboard box, with no foam around it. Mine arrived with no damage at all but I can understand how some of the other reviews show broken guitars. The strap is soft and comfortable, and the gig bag is your standard bag. I'm playing it through a Fender Mustang GTX 100 and it sounds amazing.

I have a respectable guitar collection. I have instruments worth thousands of dollars, and instruments worth barely a couple of hundred. I know what I like in an electric guitar. I want it to have a thin neck, a low action, and it needs to stay in tune. This guitar, first and foremost, is beautiful. Many friends have believed me when I tell them it was $1000, and are shocked when I tell them the real price. The finish is flawless. It is a high gloss black and the hardware shines beautifully. It is simple, classic and appealing to the eye. The action is perfect and makes playing chords or solos a breeze. The neck is smooth and a great diameter for moving quickly up and down the frets. The frets ends are smooth. The tuners work perfectly and this guitar stays in tune for days. I put high quality strings on it and play it through a nice amp, and man does this thing scream. I am very happy with this instrument and feel as though if I paid twice the amount, I would still be impressed. Donner is doing good things and this is just the latest example of how they're bringing quality in equipment for a bargain price. I would absolutely recommend this guitar to any beginner looking to learn, but this will please even a picky pro. I love it!

Beautiful! Beautiful looking guitar.

If you how to set these guitars up they're amazing. After a string change, pick up and bridge set up, feels and plays great. Looks good too. I've played for over 40 years this would be an ideal starter. The tones are stunning

Great guitar feels perfect and action is on fire can't wait to get another one.

This guitar is very cool. Much nicer than I anticipated. Set up out of the box was good. It was delivered on time exactly when Donner said it would. I honestly think the DLP 124 is going to earn a cult following in years to come. If you can get one do it.

I’m personally a self training beginner guitarist so I needed a relatively low quality start which I was fortunately found disappointed. This guitar, for only $170 or so, is way better than I had previously anticipated. The sound is great, it holds its tune fairly well (just a touch here and there for the tuning), the string action is a little high and when my hand is at a sharp angle with my palm against the side the frets can be a little damaging.
I’ve looked into the manufacture and they have a sort of reputation for pedals and amps but they do have a selection of guitars as a new business motive I suppose. If I had known better, I probably would have gotten the DST-100R since it comes with more and I wouldn’t have had to buy all the equipment that I did. But that’s more my negligence than a complaint. It is strange that the DST is a little cheaper than the Les Paul despite the DST having everything the Les Paul has an more.
LL
genuinely a great guitar. it may not be ichika nito tier, but i'd say it's high up there considering its price.
KC
Product good and sturdy, lighter than I thought it would be, no dislikes, used it as a heavier sounding instrument than a stratocaster, it can really be loud, had a thinner body than I thought it might have, used it On amp On clean setting, the switch was okay as we're the volume and tone knobs, the strings were fine, some people change them, but Donner firm does provide good strings with its instruments. It came with a strap and a cable so was playable via my 10 Watt practice amp from first getting it, a great buy for any guitar learner, also it is a Les Paul type guitar, and if you're interested in learning guitar you should also be interested in different styles of guitar and who made them, how and why they sound different to one another, this guitar fits in history between the Telecaster and Stratocaster guitar, if played right one can get a real mellow sound from it or rock out heavily, the personal style of playing is up to you the owner of this fine guitar.
James
The guitar is very beautiful in person. Pictures don't do it justice. So a esthetically speaking the guitar is great. Now I'm a novice guitarist who doesn't play often or all that well. So bear that in mind when I tell you I think the quality of this particular product is well worth the price. It is not my first guitar electric or otherwise. I watched as many reviews as I could find online before making this purchase and I am not disappointed. I suspect only an experienced professional player will find fault with this guitar. For the beginner, intermediate and even seasoned players this is a great piece. If you're in the market and especially if you find it on sale I say buy it. I got mine for a little over $100. Well worth it.

I don’t say that lightly. There’s plenty of Epiphone Les Pauls (I’ve always felt these were pretty meh, but I’m not normally a Les Paul player), MIM Fenders (not bad guitars but they’re expensive), Squiers (too expensive now a days), ESP, Ibanez, Jackson (all a bit different from what’s being offered here but there’s some good choices for the money), and well you get the point. Is this guitar really better than an Epiphone Les Paul? Maybe. Is it better value? Yes.
Many are going to debate bolt-on vs. set neck, and carved vs. flat. I do prefer flat, thinner bodied Les Pauls because they sound hotter and more alive, which is true here too. I’ve personally never experienced a difference made by a neck joint. I’ve used a piece of cardboard packaging as a neck shim and it made 0 tonal difference. I’ve played guitars with improperly fit necks and had no issues or noticed any tonal differences either. So the fact that Donner used a bolt-on neck here doesn’t bother me at all.
On the topic of that neck I’d take it over any Epiphone neck I’ve come across any day. Including my own. Donner used a profile that’s more similar to that of a Fender Strat, did a satin natural finish on the back which feels great and plays super smooth, and unlike Epiphone they colour matched the headstock. That alone is the single nicest thing a company can do to the guitars headstock and I really wish we saw it more often. It looks great. I also added some trapezoid inlay stickers so that it’s really got that Les Paul look without any of the (IMO) Les Paul drawbacks. And unlike any instrument I’ve played at this price this one has flawless fretwork. All together this neck feels fantastic.
So on the sound front this is where I can only say that maybe this guitar is better than an Epiphone. The Epiphones I’ve played have sounded very wooden, dull, bassy, lacking in character. Not all of them, there’s the odd exception but in general a Les Paul just sounds too thick and boring to my ears, more so if its an Epiphone for some reason. I love them on an album when someone else plays them but I’m not a fan when I play them. This sounds much more like an SG, which I am a fan of hearing but not playing. The guitar is very alive, very biting, it’s aggressive with distortion and fits really well with punk rock and lead guitar riffs. When it’s clean I find the bridge pickup to be a bit thin. Using both pickups or the neck alone provides a warm and articulate tone. It’s still relatively thin for a humbucker but this guitar is clearly meant to be more articulate and to be fair it never comes across as shrill or harsh.
It reminds me a lot of Mary Spender’s Kiesel which is a beautiful guitar full stop. This one doesn’t sound as good (at least with me playing, I can’t hold a candle to her) but it does feel like it was designed with her playstyle in mind.
So all this leaves me with an instrument that I just love. It’s beautiful, it plays and sounds as good as it looks, it’s well built, the tuners feel more like high end Grovers then they have any right to, the headstock matches the body colour, it’s a ridiculous value. If you’ve read this far then you’re clearly interested in this guitar. Buy it, it’s absolutely worth the money! I'm hard pressed to think of a better recommendation. Except maybe finding a hard tail Strat, like my Bullet, and dropping in Hot Rails, locking tuners, a nice bridge (soon), and a Switchcraft jack (also soon) but it's still not as good a value, and it has it's own costs and times investments that the Donner doesn't. Just pull it out, set it up, and play. I added inlay stickers because I think they look better but otherwise I'm perfectly happy to keep this one stock.

This is a fantastic beginner guitar. The guitar plays fairly well right out of the box. The pickups sound great plugged into a Fender Mustang amp. They have great sound and plenty of output. As with any guitar, this would benefit from a good setup. The factory string height came at about 2.5 mm at the 12 th fret. This is easily adjusted at the bridge. The knobs and switches operate smoothly with no noise coming through the amp. The sides of the frets could stand for some polishing but it's not a huge deal to me. The one drawback is the tuners seem to be the lower quality. They work, especially for beginners but down the road I will opt for a nice set of tuners. All in all it's a great starter guitar that should serve well without breaking the bank.

The Donner DLP-124S Solid Body Full-size 39 inch Guitar Kit in Sunburst Yellow is a diamond in the ruff. The DLP came packed in an outer box in addition to the Donner Guitar Box for extra protection. It was shielded with packing material and placed inside the Gear Bag. I was elated to find the guitar had arrived in pristine condition, and a beauty it is. The sunburst yellow nicely finished is awesome, framed by a vintage white binding strip around the top edge of the solid body. The Gear Bag is quality nylon with padded sponge interior with protective edge to prevent scratching by the zipper. Also included is quality strap and cable with a right-angle connector and allen wrench to use to perform adjustments to the truss rod. I was able to set the guitar up within minutes with minimal effort. When I plugged the guitar into my amp and turned it on, man, I was surprised with the smooth, deep sound from the Donner 202S Humbucker pickups! The notes and chords are clear without external or humming sounds. The string action is great and barre chords are resonant without buzzing. The tuning keys and pegs are of good quality and serve to keep the guitar in tune – even after bending the strings while playing. I was happy to find that the guitar stays in tune when I use a capo, and further adjustment was not needed to play with perfect pitch. And some of us know how difficult sometimes the G or B string can be to tune properly for all chords without a pitch issue – hah, not with this guitar. I have tried it with each of the different modes on the amp, and I am having a blast with it. I know that the description of the guitar says it is for beginners, but I think an intermediate player or even a professional player using this as a practice guitar would be surprised with the quality of sound that it produces. It is a great selection for the beginner player starting out, and with the Gear Bag, Guitar Strap, and Guitar cable included, it spares the beginner an added expense of these items to get started, meaning that it is available to more people who otherwise may not be able to afford all of these items separately to get started. I had bought a guitar of a well known brand in this price range previously (without the extras), and it does not measure up to the quality of the DLP-124S. Well done Donner!
Taylor W.
Honestly, I was expecting lower quality considering the price. The electronics and hardware are actually very decent. All very easy to do and it made the guitar play and sound better than Epiphone Les Paul's I've played in guitar stores. Very impressed with Donner, they make great pedals as well :)
