As an experienced drummer I play an acoustic kit with a covers band. Learning new songs and practice has always been tricky at home so rarely bother and just wait till I'm at rehearsal studio with the band. However I recently decided to go for a basic electronic kit. The introduction of mesh heads on these kits being a big plus giving more life like play and they are quieter. The Donner DE200 kit was getting good reviews so thought I'd go for it and I wasn't disappointed. The frame work is good and sturdy and at over 6 foot in height I had no problem with adjusting it to mimic my main kit setup. Response on heads is very good although I find the hihat pedal lift a bit difficult to get used to. Some people have criticised the lack of sounds etc on the module but I have no issue with this, I would say more than enough versatility for a budget kit. You can plug your phone into aux socket and that will give you countless tracks to drum along with. The built in play along with tracks are not great. Finally the kit came ready to go with headphones, sticks and stool which is bit flimsy but does the job. Kit takes up very little floor space. Very pleased I decided to make the purchase.
The drumkit is very good I enjoy every second of using it and it is a good price for a beginner just the cymbals are a little off as in they have dual sounds but sometimes it does not work but other then that I love my drumkit.
Just AWESOME, Well done Donner Music.
Ordered it on a Sunday got delivered on Saturday, set it up very straight forward, I’m very pleased with it, a great kit for a great price, Thanks.
I bought this for my son. He loves it.
It’s a good set and great for beginners. I’m just a little does not work with logic or garage band drummer. The sound module does not send a midi stop signal. Logic and garage band will quit after about 10 hits or so. It seems to work fine with other plug-ins.
My girls love this instrument. A+ product
Nice set for a beginner like me. Would be nice to have stool set to come with it.
More than happy with the kit. Loving every minute of it. Amazing sound and works in well with other instruments in the band
i had a great time
Thank you to Donner for this amazing kit! With a few adjustments, this kit is high quality and quite versatile. The pads are very sensitive to dynamics and the pads themselves feel like acoustic drums. My only complaint is the high hat tends to play double strokes on a single hit, so it might be a little too sensitive, but other than that, this e kit is a great value with a multitude of sounds. I love it!
Steeper learning curve than I expected, but these drums are sweet, fun, and ecomical way to learn the art of percussion. Easy to assemble, too. Not all the kits move me, but that's just personal taste, and the throne's way too hard, got a pillow that does the trick until I get a more comfy chair, but other than that, 2 big thumbs up. And I can say the same for my lemon yellow strat. Overall, very satisfied with my purchased, and the quality for entry level instruments is superb. Oh, and one othe thing is that in assembling the kit, I made one minor boo boo - I put the felt cymbal rings _under_ the cymbal where they turned rock hard; you wouldnt' have 4 rings kickin' around that you could send me? No worries if you don't, guys.
Love it. Great to practice and have fun.
I love the set. it was pretty easy to setup, instructions were clear. I did a lot of research before decided on the DED-200. The whole structure was very sturdy and stable. I used velcro to attach the bass pad to the horizontal bar to prevent it from moving, and it works fine. I am only a novice in drumming, there are metronome and songs for me to learn. it is fun.
Best electronic drums at a low price!Think John Bonham would be proud of it!
Love the set
They look intimidating to set up but was really very easy. Was very pleased with the pre-programmed kits that are already loaded on module. Very small space needed to set-up and sound amazing for the meager price they are asking. I purchased the expansion kit and very happy I did. The mesh heads are a very nice featire. The ONLY thing is this, if you buy the non- expanded kit you get a throne AND earphones. You pay less and get more.
My expanded set that cost more did not come with these 2 items. Which is a little strange I think.
But overall not a HUGE deal. Just strange.
Been playing drums since 1967 from Country to Rock. And these drums get it done.
Thank you Easter for an awesome experience!
Using it at home as a practice kit for worship rehearsal. So far it's been great! Sounds and dynamics are excellent. The kit has a small footprint which gives it an advantage if your practice space is tight. It's about a month or so old so I can't rate reliability. Assembly was super easy. So far I totally recommend this kit for beginners and drummers who want to rehearse without killing your family and neighbors. I wouldn't recommend using it for gigs as it is a light duty kit. I'm a semi professional drummer with 35 years of band experience. I have also owned Alesis and Yamaha electronic Drum products. Also have played extensively on high end Roland V drums.
I added 3 photos to my review for a reason. One of them is my old beaten up Roland electric drum kit. It was a good drum set but the Toms are rubber pads. Everything about the donner drum set is great. The mesh drums are awesome, however when I hooked my personal pedal up to the donner kicked drum, the beater would bounce off the mesh head a lot to where it was almost like a drum roll on the bass drum. I ended up hooking up my Roland kick pad to the kit instead. I’m sure the mesh head is great, I’m gonna stick a pad to the mesh head to hopefully stop the bounce back. It’s really nice and convenient that you can use parts from other kits that way you can customize the kit to your liking. I also went with my old snare drum from the Roland kit just because it’s bigger, nothing wrong with the one included. I also use my own snare drum stand because I cannot stand having my snare drum mounted on the arm of the rack because you’re limited on adjusting to your comfort, same with the high hat cymbal which is why I used an actually cymbal stand. My only complaint about the drum set is the module. It only comes with 16 drum settings and they’re really not that great so I ended up using my Roland module. If you’re wanting to buy this for a kid who is wanting to learn the drums this kit is perfect. I only gave this product 4 stars mainly because of the module, but it is super nice that you can customize with parts from other electric kits.
A very fun e-kit to play! The best part is the expandability that you can unlock from the digital aspect. The kit does have some technical limitations such as no choke on the cymbals and room for only one programmable drum kit, but here's what I've done to compensate for that. Tossed out the included wood sticks and replaced them with some funky safety green vinyl ones instead and attached them with a dual set stick clamp directly to the cage when not in use. Added some powerful Harman Kardon amplification, high resolution speakers and two subwoofers to provide that convincing bass drum sound and it all helps to get the full effect of the different sounds that you can make while playing. Swapped out the included single-chain single kick pedal for a double-chain double kick pedal system with balanced speed strikers and added a dual strike pad for protection and my results are fantastic in my opinion. Mine pounds and sounds just like an analog kit.
Donner ded-200 5 Drum 4 cymbals. As a new beginner drummer so far this was very nicely packed and shipped. Pretty easy to set up and adjust. Love the way it sounds. Really the only down side is the module only because it really should have its own manual to explain all the functions such as how to save settings and what some things mean. But really love the drum set and would absolutely recommend to people.
Love my drum have a great sound i plug it in my computer via usb and used ezdrummer with asio4all driver to cut latency works well
Love the feel and sounds great.
This product is awesome!!!! The pedals and hardware are great. I hooked my double bass pedals up and the bass drum pad registers both beaters perfectly. Shipping was extremely fast and I have added this kit to my house for those 2 in morning moments when inspiration hits. This kit is versatile and I am loving it!!!
Great value. Mesh heads feel awesome.
Amazing price for such a great kit. Sounds just like the real thing and easy to put together.
As a beginner to the drums I've found this kit to be excellent! It took a little time to set up, but nothing too difficult. Can just be a little niggly when folding away as you always need to adjust most heads and symbols to fold. But other than that it's exactly what I hoped for. It's very responsive, good sound quality (I suggest using a decent pair of headphones) and a sturdy frame holding it together. Highly recomend for a beginner / or someone looking for casual play
Easy to assemble, my son did it himself. He discs beginner and is finding the set easy to use and learn on. The only downside is when plugged into headphones the noise of hitting the drum pads is very annoying!
I used to do some drumming at school 43 years ago but life overtook me, my folks would never have allowed a drum kit in the house byway and the early electric kits sounded ...well...er...electric! Saw this advertised and thought why not. reviews were good and on the video they sounded authentic. This kit has not disappointed. Excellent value, easy to assemble and sounds, for the money, extremely good. The mesh heads are very responsive and each drum can be adjusted for sound and sensitivity. They throw in a lot for your buck, even a pair of headphones and sticks. My only complaint was the stool. It really is very cheap, uncomfortable, not very stable ( keeps sinking!) and looks it! . Fine for a child maybe but not an adult. I invested in getting a good stool and it has paid off. For a beginner, this kit is a very good buy. Yes I could have gone for more expensive ones but for learning and practice I think this one is unbeatable. Also add, no problems with assembly and everything was nicely packaged and nothing missing.
More features than my old Alexis Turbo Mesh kit, but the sound quality is poorer, particularly the snare sound. On balance though, this is great value.
Ordered this for my daughter, she loves it . Also even though the picture of the drum kit looks good , it actually looks better when it's up in front of you . I was quite surprised with the way it actually looks and every piece was well wrapped and protected.
The sound quality is great. The kit is excellent or practising any tine of the day.
